We are pleased to announce that you will now be able to pick up some of your favourite Stuart’s products in 130 McColl’s convenience stores from Caithness to Ayrshire. There will be 11 Stuart’s products supplied to McColl’s. These include Beef Sausages, Potted Meat, Chicken Nuggets, Chicken Schnitzel, Scotch Pies, Sausage Rolls, Steak Pies, Mince Rounds, and Steak Rounds.
Supply is being processed through the Scottish Food & Drink Hub who work in partnership with a select group of established companies across the UK, including McColl’s. The Scottish Food & Drink Hub source and extensive range of quality Scottish products and offer a dedicated point of contact to make the buying/selling process easier for all concerned. As an established Scottish provider, we won this particular supply opportunity thanks to our versatility, the range of products we could supply, and the fact that we could demonstrate that we are a quality SALSA certified producer.
Written by experienced food safety experts, SALSA is a robust and effective food safety certification scheme for smaller food producers and processors. Approved suppliers demonstrate that they operate to standards that are recognised and accepted across the industry and exceed the minimum standards expected by enforcement authorities. SALSA approval is only granted to suppliers who are able to demonstrate to an auditor that they are able to produce safe and legal food and are committed to continually meeting the requirements of the SALSA standard.
So, it’s great news all round really! Everything we needed to demonstrate, we could. We had our first pickup for McColl’s on Saturday and our second yesterday. We are now looking forward to not only capitalising on this association with McColl’s, but also to what other opportunities may come our way.
